Another recent yard project...here’s the Archaeological Garden!This area was overrun with weeds, and not the good kind: strangling vines and poison ivy (which I did get, by aggressively trying to remove them). We have lots of boulders and rocks, and I had a vision of this looking like an unearthed ancient site. Poor Eric had to move the rocks...😉
I love how this came out, and the yard bunny hadn’t yet eaten all my new plants! So far, so good!

August 1st will always be an anniversary of sorts

August 1st will always be an anniversary of sorts for me. On this day, 2 years ago, I deliberately left my long-time staff job as a product designer to become a full-time freelancer. It wasn’t an easy decision, or easy to do. But...no regrets.
I love the indie studio life I have now: the flexibility to set my own hours, to work on my own things, to travel at will (when we can), to teach, and to be available to my family at large. It took a bit, but I now have an agent I love, and my very own books in the works...which is what I was aiming for. I am often reminded how fleeting life is. Take the leap and make it what you want it to be.
